BreauxBridge - Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am, on Saturday, September 29, 2012, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Mercedes Davis Sylvester, 51, who passed away on Saturday, September 22, 2012. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home on Carver Dauterive from 7:00 am until 10:00 am on Saturday. A rosary will be recited at 8:00 am. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge. She is survived by her mother, Verlie Davis; her son, Calvin Sylvester Jr. and his companion, Shelly Potier; two daughters, Jessica Sylvester and her companion, Bradley Hebert, and Taylor Davis; two brothers, Michael and Isaac Davis; four sisters, Clemencia Noel, Sandra Bailey, Gwendolyn Blanchard, and Myra Anthony; and two step grandchildren, Patrick and Trevon Narcisse. She is preceded in death by her father, Joseph Simon Davis; her husband, Calvin Sylvester Sr.; and her companion, George Fox. Pallbearers will be Harry Noel, Harvey Noel, William Noel, Norwood Blanchard, Dwayne Blanchard, and Willie Noel.
