New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM, on Thursday, September 8, 2016, at St. Peter Catholic Church in New Iberia, for Merilyn Gary Hebert, 70, who passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2016, in New Iberia.
Interment will follow in the St. Nicholas Cemetery in Patoutville.
A gathering of family and friends will be Wednesday from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. A rosary, led by the Men's Rosary Group, will be prayed at 7:00 PM on Wednesday. Visitation will continue on Thursday from 8:00 AM until 9:30 AM.
A native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, Ms. Hebert was born on August 19, 1946 to Alwyn Gary and Julie Migues Gary. She enjoyed playing bingo, dancing, and crocheting. Her family was the most important aspect of her life, and she cherished time spent with them
Survivors include her daughter, Julie Hebert of Loreauville; sons, Faron Hebert of New Iberia, Alwyn Hebert of Loreauville, Keith Hebert of Loreauville, LA; step daughters, Tina Patout and husband Mark of New Iberia, Janet Mire and husband Elray of New Iberia, Tammy Badeaux and husband Marty of Loreauville, LA, Peggy Hebert of New Iberia; step son, Frankie Hebert and wife Sarah of New Iberia; adopted daughter, Liz Delcambre and husband Jody of Loreauville; adopted sons, Jason Delcambre and fiance Kacie of New Iberia, Jacque Lemaire and wife Jennifer of New Iberia; sisters, Sandra O'Connor and husband Jim of Gretna, Myrtle Viator and husband John of Patoutville; grandchildren, Brittani Chappell, Jaelin Broussard, Deja Hebert, Stormy Hebert; step grandchildren; special cousins, Wayne LaBiche and wife Brenda of New Iberia, Shelagh LaBiche Bensabat of Virginia; and great grandchildren, Jessa Broussard, Kaylee Chappell, and Zoie Chappell.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Charlene Gary Marks, and a brother, Roderick Gary.
Pallbearers will be Faron Hebert, Alwyn Hebert, Keith Hebert, Wayne LaBiche, Jason Delcambre, Kevin Viator, John Viator, Jr., and Kasey Delcambre.
