Merley Taylor Knott

Cecilia - Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, January 19, 2008, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia, for Merley Taylor Knott, 72, who passed away on Thursday, January 17, 2008 at her residence. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia. Fr. Donald Pousson, will officiate at the funeral Mass. Readers will be Dana Dupuis and April Taylor. Her grandchildren will serve as the gift bearers. Mrs. Knott enjoyed gardening, doing landscaping work in her yard, and decorating her house. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She took great joy in preparing the "Big Biscuits" for breakfast for her family and friends to enjoy. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who will be sadly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing and loving her. Survivors include her husband, Clarence Knott, of Cecilia; three daughters, Deborah K. Dupuis and her husband, Dickie, of Leonville, Brenda Knott Hardy, of Arnaudville, and Cynthia "Bozo" K. Taylor and her husband, Ricky, of Arnaudville; two sons, Randy Knott and his wife, Cheryl, of Arnaudville, and Travis Knott and his wife, Allison, of Arnaudville; four sisters, Zula Stelly, Verna Mae Guidroz, both of Arnaudville, Rose Duplechien, of Alba, TX, and Jeanette Lagrange, of Laporte, TX; 14 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Adelma and Octavia Dugas Taylor; two brothers, Dutile and Alton Taylor; three sisters, Velma Guidroz, Wilma Calais, and Anna Mae Stelly; and two children, Baby Knott and Mona Knott Lanclos. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. on Friday and continue at 7:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Pallbearers will be Randy Knott, Travis Knott, Don Lanclos, Dickie Dupuis, Sammy Taylor, Jeremy Knott, Donovan Lanclos, Rickie Taylor, and Logan and Hogan Hardy. Pellerin Funeral Home of Cecilia is in charge of arrangements.
