Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 6 pm on Friday, April 19, 2013, at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel in Breaux Bridge, for Merlin Joseph Bergeron, 63, who passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2013. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home on Friday, beginning at 10:00 am until 5:20 pm. A rosary will be recited at 5:30 pm. Deacon Marcel "Butch" Hebert will officiate at the Funeral Service. Merlin was employed by Gulf Coast Marine Fabricators for 19 years and with Breaux Bridge City Police Department for 7 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge 476. Merlin enjoyed gardening and spending time with his grandchildren, children, and the love of his life, Nancy. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Nancy Angelle Bergeron of Breaux Bridge; his daughter, Tonya B. (Louis) Trahan of Maurice; four sons, Willie R. (Andrea) Bergeron, Joseph M. (Rachal) Bergeron, all of Breaux Bridge, McKenna J. (Tiffany) Bergeron, and Beau D. Bergeron, all of Lafayette; his brother, Melvin "Black" Bergeron of Breaux Bridge; two sisters, Mildred Allemond of Opelousas, and Mary (Easton) Hayes; and 6 grandchildren, Marcus G. Bergeron, Angelique M. Bergeron, Willie Roy Bergeron, II, Ariel P. Bergeron, Rylan J. Bergeron, and Baby Hazel R. Bergeron. He is preceded in death by his parents, Willie John Bergeron and Alfreda Trosclair Bergeron; and his sister, Melba Bergeron Richard.
