Merlin Peter Wiltz

St. Martinville - A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, June 5, 2020, at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville for Merlin P. Wiltz, 82, who passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2020, at St. Agnes Healthcare & Rehab Center. Rev. Michael Sucharski, SVD will officiate at the Graveside Service. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville. Merlin was born April 27, 1938 in Lafayette to the late Adam and Lena LaSalle Wiltz. He enjoyed fishing and riding around visiting family and friends. Merlin will be dearly missed. He is survived by his daughters, Susan Henry (Willie), Louella Alexander (Mark), Carolyn West (Carl) and Crystal Wiltz (Darrell); son, Anthony Wiltz, Sr.; 14 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; sisters, Sara Benoit and Elizabeth Perrodin; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Althea Gerard Wiltz; parents, Adam and Lena LaSalle Wiltz; brother, Wilfred Wiltz; sister, Inez Berthelot; grandchild, Sheleesee Wiltz; and one great grandchild, Shane Michael Lewis. Pallbearers will be Desmond Wiltz, Tylan Alexander, Anthony Wiltz Jr., Jaquan Payne, Chadrick Alexander and Mark Alexander. Honorary pallbearers will be Anthony Wiltz, Sr., Darrell Wiltz, Albert Alexander, Willie Henry, Carl West, Randy Perrodin, Herman Alexander, and Newman "Nick" Batiste. The family would like to extend a special thanks to his special nephew, Randy Perrodin for the love and care given to Merlin in his time of need.
