Metta "Gin" Virginia Russell

Breaux Bridge - Metta "Gin" Virginia Russell, 78, who passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2019, at The Carpenter House St. Joseph Hospice. Gin was a teacher throughout her entire career. She began teaching at Breaux Bridge Junior High before becoming a teacher for the Department of Defense where she taught in many cities including; Azores, Iceland, Germany, and Misawa, and Okinawa, Japan. Gin will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her brother, John Wesley Russell of Shreveport; and her sister, Barbara Russell-Girard and husband John of Lafayette. She was preceded in death by her father, Carson Wesley Russell, mother, Metta Virginia Russell, step mother, Eunice Murphy Russell, sister in law, Gail Russell.
