Henderson - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 4:00 pm on Wednesday, July 10, 2019, at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Henderson for Michael Douet, 66, who passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2019, at Ochsner Medical Center.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home in Breaux Bridge from 8:30 am until 3:30 pm on Wednesday.
A rosary will be prayed at 1:00 pm on Wednesday.
Rev. Lloyd F. Benoit will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Kathleen Richenings and Brenda Douet. Gift Bearers will be Madelyne Gerard, Rose Douet and Stanly Douet.
Michael was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was a hard worker and lived for providing for his family. Spending time with the ones he loved, especially with his grandsons, was one of his favorite things to do. Michael was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and horse racing. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Yvonne Lasseigne Douet; son, Jean Douet and wife Klaire; grandchildren, Brayden and Jaxon Douet; sister, Madelyne Gerard and husband Allen; brother, John Douet; aunt and uncle, Stanley and Rose Douet; his aunts, Sue Hulin and Hazel Latiolais; and two godchildren, Brandon Angelle and Lance Gerard.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney and Mary Ruth Benoit Douet; sister, Margie Douet; brother, Joseph Douet; and an infant sister.
Pallbearers will be Lonnie Gerard, Gene Gerard, Clyde Douet, Lance Gerard, Brooks Angelle, and Brock Angelle.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jean Douet, John Douet, Stanley Douet, Charles Douet, Brandon Angelle, Rickey Douet, Russell Tauzin, Allen Gerard Sr., and Harry Lee Patin.
