Michael "Mike" Guidry

Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, March 31, 2023, at St. Bernard Catholic Church for Michael "Mike" Guidry, 78, who passed away on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at The Carpenter House in Lafayette.

A visitation will take place at the funeral home in Breaux Bridge on Thursday from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm and will continue on Friday from 8:00 am until 9:30 am.

A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Thursday evening by Deacon Marcel “Butch” Hebert.

Father Garrett McIntyre will officiate at the funeral mass. Readers will be Judy Olivier and Julie Olivier. Gift Bearer will be Kiley Dupuis. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2.

Mike worked in the oilfield for over 57 years, where he was known for being a hard worker. He loved being with his family and friends and he cherished the time spent with his coffee club every morning. Mike also enjoyed cooking and camping trips. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his daughter, Tricia Hidalgo (Jose'); son, Shannon Guidry (Nicole); grandson, Brodi Dupuis (Amber); great-granddaughter, Kiley Dupuis; brother, Thomas Guidry (Gayle); sisters, Mary Jane Stelly, Rosa Mae Guidry and Mildred Guidry; nephew, Leonard "Favorite" Devillier; and brother-in-law, Willis Guidry.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Kidder Guidry; parents, Ovey Guidry and Alzire Melancon Guidry; and his sister, Iva Mae Devillier.

Pallbearers will be Shannon Guidry, Brodi Dupuis, Leonard Devillier, Willis Guidry, Tony Stelly and Tommy Stelly.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Thomas Guidry and Jose' Hidalgo.
