Michael Wayne Tate

Breaux Bridge - A memorial service will be held at 11:30 am on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge for Michael Wayne Tate , 52, who passed away on Monday, January 31, 2022.

Inurnment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Lafayette.

Michael was loving and compassionate, caring for his parents at end of their time here on Earth.  He loved animals and took them in often. He was an old soul who loved the beauty of nature, classic books, movies, and was an eloquent writer.

Michael attended USL in Lafayette. As a pastime, he enjoyed fishing, cooking, and writing poetry.

“Stars shine bright, tiny fires in the night, try as we might, can’t reach Heaven’s light”…you are there sweet brother, welcome Home.

He is survived by his two daughters, Genevieve Adeline Irene Tate and Isabella Miranda Rena Tate; two sisters, Vickie Goff (Charles) and Susan Derigo (Jerry); two nephews, Caleb Goff and Jacob Goff; and two nieces, Alaina Derigo and Emily Derigo.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Wanda Lynne Darbonne Tate.
