Born on May 12, 1954 , Mike worked for CenterPoint Energy as a regional operations director, with over 38 years of service. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, cooking, and entertaining family and friends. Mike also enjoyed gardening, planting flowers and trees. Survivors include his wife, Debbie Williams Hester of New Iberia ; sons, Michael Hester, Jr. and wife Corinne of Broussard, Jeremy Hester and wife Bridget of Clearwater, Florida, Stephen Lunday of Alvin, Texas; daughter, Katie Hester of New Iberia; brother, Robert Hester and wife Freida of Rockport, Texas; 9 grandchildren, Dylan Hester, Michael Hester, KaSahra Hester, Kimberly Hester, Kayla Hester, Stephen Lunday, Jr., Jarrod Lunday, Jacob Kerstetter, and Christopher Kerstetter. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert W. Hester and Lida Pearline Whitley; and a brother, Charles Miller. A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd , in New Iberia .
