Mildred "Bea" Dupuis Huval

Cecilia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia for Mildred "Bea" Dupuis Huval, 96, who passed away on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at J. Michael Morrow Memorial Nursing Home. 

A visitation will take place at the funeral home in Cecilia on Tuesday from 7:30 am until 1:30 pm. 
 
A Rosary will be prayed at 1:00 pm on Tuesday afternoon by Deacon Ken Soignier. 

Father Gregory Cormier will officiate at the Funeral Mass. The burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. 

Mildred was born in Butte La Rose on August 9, 1927. She worked as a beautician for many years before beginning to work as a seamstress where she worked diligently at Martin Mills. Affectionately known as "Aunt Bea," she had a remarkable ability to make people feel welcomed and loved. She cherished cooking for her family especially for Sunday dinners and holidays.

Beyond her passion for sewing and cooking, Bea took great pride in maintaining her yard to perfection. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. 

She is survived by her sons, Ike Huval and Richard Huval (Millie); daughter, Katie Devillier; 11 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Agnel Huval; son-in-law, John Devillier; parents, Herman Dupuis and Adelaide Burch Dupuis; brothers, Cleveland Dupuis and Kaiser Dupuis; and sisters, Hazel Berard, Hilda Altemus, Beulah Doucet and Adelle Guilbeau. 

Pallbearers will be Barney LeBlanc, Scott Huval, Dane Huval, Mike Doucet, Maxim Doucet and Theo Huval. 

The family would like to extend a special thanks to her dear neighbors: Barney, Kyle, Rebecca, Bridgette, Margaret, Dolores, Judy, Wiley and Jackie, her best friends: Gina and Beth, the LGMC 8th floor staff, especially nurse: Jaden, and the staff of J. Michael Morrow Nursing Home for all of their care and compassion.
