Breaux Bridge - Mildred Richard Guidry, 87, passed away on Thursday, January 7, 2010 at Lafayette General Medical Center, in Lafayette, Louisiana. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana, from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Friday, January 8, 2010; and continue at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Port Arthur, Texas, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 9th. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Port Arthur, Texas. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, in Port Arthur, Texas. Survivors include her loving husband, of 68 years, Earl P. Guidry of Breaux Bridge; three sons, Terry Guidry and his wife, Delores, of Houston, TX, Ricky Guidry and his wife, Chris, of Austin, TX, and Dale Guidry and his wife, Marilyn, of Nederland, TX; her sister, Elizabeth "Sue" Duplechin, of Orangefield, TX; 9 grandchildren, and 22 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Christopher and Leone Guidry Richard; her sister, Gladys Richard Prejean; and her brother, Albert Joseph Richard. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Terry Guidry, Jr., Troy Guidry, Todd Guidry, Jason Guidry, Dustin Guidry, and Ric Guidry. Honorary pallbearers will be Jarrod Guidry and Shawn Dauphine.
