Mildred Broussard Mallet

Arnaudville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 27, 2018, at St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church in Arnaudville for Mildred Mallet, 70, who passed away on Thursday, October 18, 2018, at The Carpenter House – St. Joseph Hospice. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Friday and continue on Saturday at 7:00 am until 10:30 am. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Friday. Rev. Travis Abadie will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at St. John Francis Regis Cemetery in Arnaudville. Mildred graduated from Carver High School in Breaux Bridge and after graduation she followed her dream and completed a nursing program with Job Corps in Kansas City, MO. She retired from Doctors Hospital with 37 years of dedicated service to both Doctors Hospital and St. Landry Clinic. Mildred belonged to various church groups. She was a Eucharistic Minister and taught religion for many years. Mildred enjoyed cooking, caring for those in need, praying, and attending her weekly Masses. She will be remembered for her dedication and the love she had for her family and friends. She is survived by her sons, Joseph Walter Mallet, III and wife Connie of Baton Rouge and James Henry Mallet of Arnaudville; step-father, Percy Baltazar; grandchildren, Victoria R. Mallet, Kaylon M. Mallet, Devin J. Mallet, Ryan Dale Mallet, Dylan Dale Mallet, Bryson O'Brian Mallet, Kennadie Mallet, and Andria Merehead; sisters, Mary Ann Broussard and companion the late Joseph M Thompson of Arnaudville, Barbara Broussard and husband Russell of Arnaudville, and Orida B. Edwards and husband Judge Jules Edwards III of Lafayette; brother, Henry John Broussard of Lafayette; sisters-in-law, Mary Lucille Daigle and spouse Farice Sr., Rosalee Lawson and spouse the late Donald McGee Lawson, Leana Mallet, Rose Anna Minix and spouse Darrel, Elizabeth Mallet, and Joyce Mallet; brother-in-law, Donald Mallet, Sr. and spouse Laura Mae; aunt, Emma Noel and companion Herbert Batiste; uncles, Alvin Noel and Calvin Noel, Sr. and wife, Lavernia; and godchildren, Tyrelda Broussard, Byron Rideau, Bonnie Joe, and Cynthia Broussard. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Mallet, Jr.; parents, Henry Broussard and Mary Louversa Baltazar, daughter, Alisa Faye Mallet; son, Brian Keith Mallet; grandchildren, Tré Dale Mallet and Logan Mallet; mother-in-law, Media Mary Mallet; father-in-law, Walter Mallet, Sr.; and brother-in-law, Peter Mallet. Pallbearers will be Joseph Walter Mallet III, Henry John Broussard, Russell Broussard, Bryson O'Brian Mallet, Donald Mallet Jr., and Herman Charles Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be James Henry Mallet, Clyde Broussard, Donald Mallet Sr., Herbert Batiste, Judge Jules Edwards III, Percy Baltazar, Calvin Noel Jr., and Alvin Noel.
