New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Monday, May 20, 2013 at St. Peter Catholic Church in New Iberia for Mildred Segura, 86, who died Saturday, May 18, 2013, in New Iberia.
Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Rev. Paul Onuegbe will be the Celebrant.
A gathering of family and friends will be Sunday from 4:30 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM Sunday. Visitation will continue Monday from 8:00 AM until 10:30 AM.
A longtime resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Segura was born on April 13, 1927 to Paul and Maude Naquin Frederick. She had worked at the Bulliard Canning Factory, and was a cafeteria worker for Iberia Parish School Schools for many years.
She is survived by her children, Shirley Segura Trahan and husband Theodore Ray Trahan of New Iberia, Harry Lee Segura and wife, Dorothy 'Dot' Landry Segura of New Iberia, Geraldine Segura Hebert and husband Matt Hebert of Lake Charles; sister, Theresa Touchette of Arnaudville; grandchildren, Thomas Trahan, Michelle Rouly, Matthew Trahan, Hannah Trahan, Brennan Segura, Brian Viator, Gail Viator Estis; and a step grandson, Jonathan 'Jae' Ewing.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leander Segura; brothers, Paul Frederick, Phillip Frederick, Joseph Frederick; step granddaughter, Jencie Arcemont; and a great granddaughter, Bailee Guyote.
