Breaux Bridge, Louisiana- A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, September 08, 2023 at Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge for Mildred B. Soignier, 96, who passed away on September 4, 2023.
A visitation will take place at the funeral home in Breaux Bridge on Friday, September 8, 2023 from 8:30 am to 2:00 pm on Friday.
Pastor Eugene Reiszner will officiate at the funeral service.
Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 1.
Mildred B. Soignier, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on September 4, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love and faith. Born on December 5, 1926, in New Iberia, Mildred lived a life that touched the hearts of all who knew her.
Despite enduring hardships and facing loss throughout her years, Mildred remained a beacon of light and kindness. Mildred had a remarkable ability to connect with others on a deep level. She never failed to inquire about the details of your life, showing sincere curiosity and concern. Her genuine interest in others made it clear that she cherished every connection in her life, whether it be family or friends.
Mildred lived by the teachings of her Savior, loving others unconditionally and wholeheartedly. Her unwavering faith guided her through life's challenges and gave her strength even in the face of adversity. She leaves behind an incredible example for all of us to follow - to love one another with open hearts and unwavering kindness.
Mildred will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will forever hold a special place in our hearts as we carry forward the lessons she taught us. Her memory will be cherished, and her spirit will live on through the countless lives she touched.
She is survived by her sons, Jason (Vicky) Benoit and Dewey "Jimmy" (Brenda) Benoit, Jr.; daughter, Mary Katherine "Kat" (DJ) Hebert; Sons-in-law, Preston Lanerie, Sr. and Michael Naquin Sr.; stepsons, Kenneth and Butch Soignier; stepdaughter, Priscilla Soignier Goudeau; grandchildren, Jason Benoit, Jr., Jack Benoit, Jane Benoit Lantier, Jaron Benoit, Preston Lanerie, Jr., Jeni Lanerie Richard, Jessica Lanerie Werner, Deidra Hebert Barras, Dusty Hebert, Dani Hebert, Michael Naquin, Jr., Scarlett Naquin, Chance Naquin and Gabby Benoit; 19 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren; and her sisters, Mabel Muscarello, Joyce Meche, and Linda West.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Blanche B. Thibodeaux; brothers, Earl, Dennis, Lawrence, Lionel and Raymond Thibodeaux; sister, Mary Ann Usie; step-siblings, Jeanne Berard, and Bernel Martin; widowed husbands, Dewey Benoit, Sr. and Rudolph Soignier; daughters, Elaine Lanerie and Sylvia Naquin; step-son, Harry Soignier; and her grand daughter, Mary Naquin.
Pallbearers will be Jack Benoit, Jaron Benoit, Preston "PJ" Lanerie Jr., Dusty Hebert, Michael Naquin Jr., and Chance Naquin.
Honorary Pallbearers Scarlett Naquin and Gabby Benoit.
