VIEW VIDEO TRIBUTE Cecilia - Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, March 11, 2010, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia, for Miles David Serrette, 40, who died on Monday, March 8, 2010. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in Henderson. Father Michael Delcambre will officiate at the funeral service. Scriptures will be read by Jody Meche. The Gift Bearers will be Taylor Serrette, Jordan Serrette, and Hayden Serrette. Miles was a commercial fisherman by trade and enjoyed working on his friend's farm in his spare time. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Survivors include one son, Hayden Serrette of Breaux Bridge; two daughters, Taylor Serrette and Jordan Serrette, of Breaux Bridge; his parents, Melvin J. and Jeanie T. Serrette, of Cecilia; two sisters, Shari Serrette Boudreaux and her husband, Keith, and Kari Serrette Robin and her husband, Neil, all of Cecilia; his paternal grandmother, Theresa Serrette of Henderson; his special friend, Theresa McCullough, of Broussard; and the mother of his children, Monica Verrette, of Breaux Bridge. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Clifton Peru Serrette, Sr.; maternal grandparents, Shirl and Cyrus Buck Taylor; and three uncles, Clifton Serrette, Jr., Jimmy Serrette, and Robert Taylor. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home in Cecilia from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Wednesday and continue at 7 a.m. on Thursday until time of service. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Wednesday. Pallbearers will be Daniel David, Larry Wiltz, Jr., Ryan Boudreaux, Derek Robin, Keith Boudreaux, and Neil Robin. Honorary pallbearer will be his son, Hayden Serrette. Pellerin Funeral Home of Cecilia is in charge of arrangements.
