New Iberia - Graveside services will be at 11:00 AM, Friday, August 2, 2013, at Holy Family Cemetery in New Iberia, for Minos P. Romero, 86, who died on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 in New Iberia.
Mr. Romero was born on May 8, 1927 in Youngsville, and was the son of Elie and Regina Toucheque Romero. A veteran of the U.S. Army he served our country during World War II, and was the founder of Romeros Lawnmower Sales and Service in New Iberia.
Survivors include his daughter, Connie Romero Rourke and husband Tracey Lee Rourke of New Iberia; son, Hans Paul Romero and wife Gail R. Romero of New Iberia; companion, Jo Guidry of New Iberia; 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Lovelace Antoine Romero; a son, Jimmy J. Romero; and a sister, Zoie Romero Vice.
Pallbearers will be Tracey Rourke, Darrell Richard, Jerome Lange, Bruce Elliott, Seth Richard, and Lyndsey Richard.
The family would like to give special thanks to Heart of Hospice, and to granddaughters Elke Richard and Kaylee Lange for their extraordinary care and compassion.
