Mitchell Williams, Jr.

Cecilia- A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Friday, October 16, 2020, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in for Mitchell Williams, Jr., 65, who passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2020, at Opelousas General Hospital. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 7:00 am until 10:30 am on Friday. A rosary will be prayed at 8:30 am on Friday. Rev. Gregory Cormier will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery in Cecilia. He is survived by his three sisters, Nola (Wilfred) Chevalier, Ethel Boxie and Shirley Grant; four brothers, Harold Babineaux, Elroy (Sheila) Williams, Herman Babineaux and Donald Babineaux; two godchildren, London Boxie and Ashley Grant; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Elvina Journet Babineaux; father, Mitchell Williams, Sr.; step father, Alton Babineaux; six brothers, Rogers Babineaux, Leroy Williams, Nelton Babineaux, Steven Babineaux and Clinton Babineaux; eight sisters, Mary Jane Semere, Earline Davis, Genevieve Calais, Anna Laura Williams, Della Jean Batiste, Beatrice Robicheaux, Judy Chevalier and Mary Jane Calais. Pallbearers will be Whitney Chevalier Jr., London Boxie, Ryan Babineaux, Henry Semere, Eugene Boxie Jr. and Tremayne Williams. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Williams, Kenya Dartez and Nisir Muhammad. Pellerin Funeral Home of Cecilia, 2238 Bushville Hwy., Cecilia, LA 70521, (337-332-2111) is in charge of arrangements.
