Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Tuesday, April 6, 2010, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Modeste Boyer Allemond, 71, who passed away on Friday, April 2, 2010 at Opelousas General Hospital in Opelousas. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in Henderson. Rev. Chanh Nguyen will be the Celebrant. Her cousins, Sandra Dillard and Barbara Hardy will serve as lectors and serving as gift bearers will be Estelle Benoit, Kerri Menard and Jenna Allemond. Her life consisted of walking beside her husband of 52 years as his right hand helper. Together they belonged to the Patout La Club. She loved dancing, cooking, listening to Cajun music, and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She looked forward to entertaining friends and family members. She instilled responsibility to her children while teaching them the value of life and most importantly how to maintain a healthy family. Survivors include her husband, Pierre Allemond, Jr. of Nina; her son, Toby J. Allemond and his wife, Monica C. Allemond of Breaux Bridge; her daughters, Bonnie A. Latiolais and her late husband, Gary J. Latiolais, Susan A. LeBlanc and her husband, Gary J. LeBlanc and Cheryl A. Sonnier and her husband, Steve Dirck Sonnier all of Nina; her brother, Patrick Boyer and his wife, Renella; her grandchildren, Clinton J. Latiolais and his wife, Laurie B. Latiolais, Kerri S. Menard and her husband, Craig P. Menard M.D., Ji Sonnier, Estelle L. Benoit and her husband Jake J. Benoit, Jonathan J. LeBlanc, Jordan A. Allemond and Jenna C. Allemond; her great grandchildren, Emma M. Latiolais and James H. Benoit; and her step great grandchild, Nicholas Romero. She was preceded in death by her parents, Antoine and Estella Dauphine Boyer; and her son-in-law, Gary J. Latiolais. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. on Monday, April 5, 2010 and continue at 7:00 a.m. until 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 6, 2010. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Pallbearers will be Toby Allemond, Clint Latiolais, Ji Sonnier, Jordan Allemond, Jonathan LeBlanc and Craig Menard. Honorary pallbearers will be Jake Benoit, Dirck Sonnier, Gary LeBlanc, Nicholas Romero, Anthony Boyer, Randy Boyer and her brother, Patrick Boyer. Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
