Lydia - Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 9, 2016, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia, for Mona Marie Broussard Derise, 43, who passed away on Wednesday, April 6, 2016.
A gathering of family and friends will be at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia on Friday, April 8, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM, and will continue on Saturday from 8:00 AM until 11:00 AM.
Rev. Andy Starks will officiate.
Interment will follow at Beau Pre Cemetery in Jeanerette.
Mona loved being a drafter at Loadmaster Derrick & Equipment, where she had been employed for two years. She a was a member of Cornerstone Cowboy Church, and loved studying the Bible with her father. She enjoyed crafting, especially piata making, and had a passion for helping others. She cherished moments spent with her family, and she will be deeply missed.
Mona is survived by her parents, Edwin J. Broussard, Jr. and Terry Guillotte Broussard of New Iberia; son, Devin James Mayon of Charenton; daughter, Kristen Renee Derise and significant other, Nicolas Engle of New Iberia; sisters, Rachel B. Buteaux of New Iberia, and Jennifer Lynn Loga and husband Keith Loga, Jr. of St. Martinville; nieces, Tori Lynn Buteaux of New Iberia, and Raina Marie Landry of St. Martinville; nephew, Logan Glenn Buteaux of New Iberia; and paternal grandfather, Edwin Broussard, Sr. of Jeanerette.
She was preceded in death by paternal grandmother, Thelma Abshire Broussard; maternal grandmother, Cora Gary Guillotte, maternal grandfather, Ernest Guillotte; uncle, Gerald Broussard; and brother-in-law, Brent N. Buteaux.
Pallbearers will be Rachel B. Buteaux, Jennifer Lynn Loga, Chris Derise, Egbert Mayon, Keith Loga, Donovan Varnado.
Honorary pallbearer is Devin James Mayon.
