New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Friday, April 21, 2017, at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church in New Iberia for Mona Boudoin Simon, 58, who passed away on Tuesday, April 18, 2017, in New Iberia after a courageous battle with ALS.
Entombment will follow in the church mausoleum.
Rev. Ed Degeyter will be the Celebrant, and Rev. Mario Romero will be the Con Celebrant.
A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM Thursday. Visitation will continue on Friday from 8:00 AM until 9:45 AM.
Mona was born on November 17, 1958 to Wilton Boudoin, Sr. and Betty Galliano Boudoin, and received her Masters Degree of Engineering from the University of Louisiana Lafayette. She was the former owner and operator of Boudoin Electric and Alarms, and then retired as an electrical engineer from LUS Fiber. Mona was a member of the Louisiana Professional Engineering and a member of IEEE. Her hobbies included camping, riding horses and four wheelers, dancing, and spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include her husband, Mike Simon of New Iberia; mother, Betty Boudoin LeBlanc of New Iberia; son, Nicholas Simon and wife Nicole of New Iberia; daughter, Katelyn Simon of New Iberia; mother-in-law, Sirena Rogers of New Iberia, LA; grandchildren, Tyler and Gracie Warren; brothers, Wilton Boudoin, Jr. and wife Mary Helencouzens of Tucson, Arizona, Connif Boudoin and wife Tricia of New Iberia; sisters, Tammy Boudoin and companion Russ Erikson of New Iberia, Dana Carte and husband Jim of Parks, Brandi Fitch and husband Nick of New Iberia, Barbara LeBlanc and husband Steve of New Iberia.
She was preceded in death by her father, Wilton Boudoin, Sr.; maternal grandparents, Gibson and Mary Irene Galliano; paternal grandparents, Elier and Marie Boudoin; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Gil and Linda Simon; and father-in-law, Bert Rogers.
Pallbearers will be Mike Simon, Nicholas Simon, Farzin "Fozie" Khosropour, Connif Boudoin, Caleb Fitch, and Jude Simon.
Honorary pallbearers include Wilton Boudoin Jr., and Fred Dardant.
