Monita Fuselier Oubre

St. Martinville - Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 7, 2007, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville, for Monita Fuselier Oubre, 90, who died on Friday, August 3, 2007 at Consolata Nursing Home in New Iberia. Interment will be in St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville. Rev. Kenneth Bienvenu will officiate at the funeral Mass. ?Readers will be her daughter, Jeannine, and her granddaughter, Angie Bergeron. ?Gift bearers will be her great grandchildren. Mrs. Oubre was a nurse for many years, and was also an artist. ?She was a member of the Lafayette District Lay Carmelites. ?She took great joy in caring for all those in need and loved being surrounded by her family and friends, while expressing her beautiful smile through laughter to all who knew her. She is survived by one son, Louis Oubre, Jr., of St. Martinville; two daughters, Elaine O. Wright and her husband, Bill, of Broussard, and Jeannine O. Kelly and her husband, Karl, of New Iberia; one sister, Pauline Chargois, of St. Martinville; six grandchildren, Michael Bergeron, of Miami, Fla., Angie Bergeron, of Youngsville, Jennifer Broussard, Brandi Kelly, Brandon Bergeron, and Kristopher Kelly, all of New Iberia; and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Oubre, Sr.; her parents, Fergus and Anita Olivier Fuselier; two brothers, Palmer and Nolan Fuselier; and three sisters, Ella Theriot, Agnes Fuselier, and Mae Martin. The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 4 PM ~ 8 PM on Sunday; 9 AM ~ 9 PM on Monday; and continue at 7 AM on Tuesday until time of service. A rosary will be recited at 7 PM on Monday evening. Pallbearers will be Louis Oubre, Jr., Brandon Bergeron, Karl Kelly, Bill Wright, Glen Martin, and Kristopher Kelly. Honorary pallbearers will be Ricky Chargois and Mike Chargois. Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville is in charge of arrangements.
