Parks - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Thursday, February 21, 2019, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Parks for Morris John "Pye" Theriot, 68, who passed away on Tuesday, February 19, 2019, at Iberia General Hospital & Medical Center.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 11:00 am until 10:00 pm on Wednesday and continue on Thursday at 7:00 am until 10:30 am.
A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Wednesday.
Rev. Nicholas DuPre' will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville.
Morris was a member of the Knights of Columbus, American Legion Post 289, Sal of Legion, Cursillo, and was a Eucharistic Minister. He enjoyed fishing and entertaining his family and friends. Morris dedicated his life to the oil industry and loved every day of work.
He is survived by his loving spouse Priscilla Trosclair Theriot; sons, Marty Theriot and wife Sheri of St. Martinville, and Mercury Theriot and wife Susan of St. Martinville; brothers, Marcel Theriot, II of New Iberia, Macie Theriot of New Iberia, and Max Theriot of Lafayette; grandchildren, Mallory Lopez and spouse Lance, Steven Ward, Dekota Ward, Matthew Theriot, Kristen Theriot, and Zachary Theriot; great grandchildren, Cassie Lopez, Jude Lopez, Jordan Ward, Mia Lopez, Lucy Lopez, and Steven Ward, Jr.
He was preceded in death by his father, Marcel Theriot, Sr., mother, Mable Touchet Theriot; brother, Murphy Theriot; and sister, Mazel Theriot Courville.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Theriot, Zachary Theriot, Lance Lopez, Ronnie Courville, Gavin Theriot, and Kelly Courville.
