Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Wednesday, May 20, 2009, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Mozella Usie Moyers Richards, 98, who passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 16, 2009.
Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 1 in Breaux Bridge.
Rev. Louis Allen Breaux, Associate Pastor of St. Bernard Church, will conduct the services.
Readers will be Linda Richardson and Debbey Ryan.
Mrs. Richards was born September 17, 1910. She was a native of Henderson. Mrs. Richards was a seamstress and worked at Saloom's Dress Shop for six years and fourteen years at Preston Wallace Men's Shop in Lafayette. She was very active in her community, Henderson. She was a member of the Home Demonstration Club of Henderson, The Altar Society of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Henderson, and the Rosary Society.
Mozella was a warm and generous wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be greatly missed by all.
Survivors include her beloved daughter, Gayle Moyers of Lafayette; her stepson, Warren Moyers of Atlanta GA; her stepdaughters, Kathryn Bork and husband Albert Bork and Shelley Simon of Texas; her grandchildren, Debra Ryan and her husband, Mark, Frank Richardson and his wife, Linda all of Lafayette, Msgt. William Richardson and his wife, Seiko stationed in Spokane, WA., Adam Bork, Amy Dreiss and Craig Dreiss, all of Texas; and three great-grandchildren, Aerielle Benoit of Lafayette, Franklin Rue Richardson of Spokane, WA. and Emma Phillips of Texas.
Preceding her in death were her husbands, Earl K. Richards and Warren Moyers along with three sisters and four brothers.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Pellerin Funeral Home from Noon on Tuesday, May 19, 2009 to 8:00 p.m. and continue from 10:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
A rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
Active Pallbearers will be Mark Ryan, Frank Richardson, Darrel Huval, Herman Manuel, Albert Bork and Larry Usie.
