Henderson - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., on Friday, April 18, 2008, at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Henderson, for Mrs. Percy Hebert, 82, the former Rose Aimee Bernard, who passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at her residence. Interment will follow at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist Cemetery in Lafayette. Fr. Chanh Nguyen, Pastor of Our Lady of Merch Catholic Church, will officiate at the funeral Mass. A native of Broussard, resident of Cecilia, Mrs. Hebert was the daughter of the late Frank Bernard and the former Felicia Broussard. A graduate of St. Cecilia High School in Broussard and Southwestern Louisiana Institute in Lafayette, Mrs. Hebert retired from the St. Martin Parish School System with 26 years credit in the Louisiana Teachers' Retirement System. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church, having served as an extraordinary minister of the Eucharist. She was a member of the Ladies' Altar Society, the St. Martin Parish Association of Retired Teachers, Louisiana Retired Teachers' Association, and the National Retired Teachers' Association. Survivors include one son, Michael Gerard Hebert, one daughter, Yvette Anne Pellerin, one grandson, Corey James Pellerin, one great grandchild, Sage Michael Pellerin; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Emery (Hazel) Kidder of Carencro; and her caretaker, Mary A. Calais. She was preceded in death by her husband, Percy Hebert; two sisters, Mary Ruth Mouton and Lucille Bernard; and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Oreste (Thelma) Kidder. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 9:30 a.m. until 10 p.m. on Thursday and continue at 6:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Friday. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Thursday. Pallbearers will be Gerard Hebert, Corey Pellerin, Glenn Hebert, Frank Mouton, Ivy Jarreau, and Bobby Kidder. Honorary pallbearers will be Sam Bonin, Harry Lee Dugas, Charles Flanagan, Claude Trahan, and Emery Kidder. Pellerin Funeral Home of Cecilia is in charge of arrangements.
