Myrtle was a woman of strong faith in the Lord. She was a faithful servant. This remarkable woman was known for her undying love for the Lord and her family and friends. She was a true legacy left for her children and grandchildren. Myrtle was also known for speaking and leading people to the Lord. She would always witness about Jesus everywhere she went. As she goes into eternal life with Jesus, she would want all to know, the only way to heaven is through Jesus Christ, and she would always say, "you won't get there by holding onto her foot." Her favorite verse was John 3:16 (For God so loved the world, He gave his only begotten son, that who so ever believeth in Him, should not perish but have everlasting life.) Myrtle wouldn't want us to grieve, but rather us rejoice because she is now dancing in the streets of gold with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Her favorite hobbies were fishing and camping. She cherished moments spent with family and friends at gathering, especially eating her favorite dish of crab and shrimp stew. She is survived by her two sons, Bobby DeRouen and wife Sheila of New Iberia and Brian DeRouen and wife Annette of Lafayette; three daughters, Patricia Bourque and husband James of Nederland, TX, Terry Crews of Laplace, LA, and Kim Hebert and husband Darrell of New Iberia, LA; daughter in law, Sandra DeRouen Perkins and husband Michael of New Iberia; son in law, Walter Miguez of New Iberia; four brothers, Daniel Viator and wife Willie Mae of Coteau, Edward Viator and wife Jean of New Iberia, Harvey Viator of New Iberia, Notis "Butch" Viator Jr. and companion Mary Hichman of New Iberia; 20 grandchildren and 24 great-great grandchildren.
