Nanette Rae Barker

Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, on Thursday, August 14, 2014, at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel in Breaux Bridge, for Nanette Rae Barker, 43, who passed away on Sunday, August 10, 2014, at Lafayette General Medical Center. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 11:00 am until 9:00 pm on Wednesday, and continue at 9:00 am until 12:45 pm on Thursday. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Wednesday. Deacon Ken Soignier will officiate at the funeral service. Scriptures will be read by Monica Barker and Diona Foster. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge. Nanette was a die-hard fan of the New Orleans Saints. She loved working in her yard and spending time with her family. She is survived by her mother, Barbara Berard; two brothers, Kevin Barker and his wife, Monica, and Jerry Barker and his wife, Lisa; her sister, Diona Foster and her husband, Myles; one nephew, Stephan Barker; two nieces, Lillie and Nyla Barker; a great nephew; two godchildren, Bryce and Bailee Tauzin; and her furr friend, Binkie. She is preceded in death by her father, Gerald George Barker; her step father, Jerry "Doggay" Berard; her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Horance Brasseaux; and her paternal grandmother, Mathilda Guidry. Pallbearers will be Kevin Barker, Bryce Tauzin, Jerry Barker, Stephan Barker, Lyle Gallet, and Myles Foster.
