Mary Louise Wiltz Hebert

June 10, 1933 — November 6, 2023

Nanny (age 90) passed away on Monday, November 6, 2023 at Camelot Rehabilitation at Magnolia Park in Lafayette, Louisiana.

 

Visitation will be held at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at 11:00am to 1:00pm.  A rosary will be prayed at 12:00pm.  Following the visitation, a Mass of Christian Burial will be officiated by Father David Rozas at St. Louis Mission Chapel in Parks, Louisiana at 1:30pm. 

 

An additional visitation will be held on Monday, November 13, 2023 at Ross Mortuary, Inc. in Houston, Texas at 10:00am to 12:00pm.  Following this visitation, a graveside service will be officiated by Father Tom Hawxhurst (of St. Patrick Catholic Church) at Paradise North Cemetery at 1:00pm.

 

Nanny was born on June 10, 1933 in Parks, Louisiana to the late Joseph Alphonse Wiltz, Jr. and Bertha Ledet Wiltz. 

 

She is the widow of Lester Hebert.  They lived in Houston, Texas for 60+ years.

 

Nanny was a faithful parishioner of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Houston, Texas for decades.  While worshiping at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Nanny was a member of the Legion of Mary, St. Vincent de Paul Society, Altar Society and the Parish Counting Team.  During the church’s annual Bazaar, Nanny helped in the French Kitchen.  When she could not attend Mass, Nanny would do whatever she could to help the church. 

 

In 2021 Nanny moved back to Parks, Louisiana where she continued her Catholic faith as a member of St. Louis Mission Chapel.

 

Nanny worked in the laundry business in New Iberia, Louisiana and Houston, Texas for years before accepting employment at Texas Instruments (TI) in Houston.  After retirement from TI, Nanny enjoyed hobbies such as sewing, quilting and ceramics.  Nanny was a member of the Aldine Area Quilt Guild in Houston.

 

Nanny is survived by her brother Phillip Melvin Wiltz, a host of godchildren, nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Hebert; parents, Joseph Alphonse Wiltz, Jr. & Bertha Ledet Wiltz; sister, Gloria “Glo” Ann Wiltz; brothers, Paul Frey Wiltz, Francis “Ray” Wiltz, Sr., Joseph Lucien Wiltz, Wallace J. “Slim” Wiltz, and Antoine C. “Snow” Wiltz.
