New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in New Iberia for Neil Lester Aucoin, 40, who died Saturday, September 17, 2010 in New Orleans . Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Readers will be Ashley Boudreaux and Erin Boudreaux. Gift Bearers include Sharon Boudreaux and Amanda Aucoin. Born on February 4, 1971 , Neil was a native and lifelong resident of New Iberia . A graduate of New Iberia Senior High School , he enjoyed doing taxidermy work, fishing, and spending time with his family, especially his Dad. Survivors include his parents, Cannon and Juliene Aucoin of New Iberia; brother, Heath Boudreaux and wife Sharon of Coteau; sister, Amanda Aucoin and husband Mitch Thibodeaux of Lafayette; grandparents, Houston Simon of Lydia, Rena Mouton of Arnaudville; girlfriend, Holly Boudreaux of Breaux Bridge; godchild and niece, Ashley Boudreaux; godchild, Erin Boudreaux; nephews, Alex Boudreaux, Jace Thibodeaux; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; and his beloved Golden Lab, 'Shay'. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lester and Rita Aucoin; and a sister, Shawn Aucoin. Pallbearers will be Heath Boudreaux, Josh Hebert, Karl Castille, Craig Segura, Jeff Slaughter, and Toby Bourque. Honorary pallbearers include Mitch Thibodeaux, Murphy Gary, Jr., Dusty Estis, Jeremy Boudreaux, Alex Boudreaux, and Jace Thibodeaux. A gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday from 4:30 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd , in New Iberia . A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM Tuesday.
