Nell Rose Thomas

St. Martinville - Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Friday, January 11, 2008, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville, for Nell Rose Therese Solari Thomas, 78, who passed away on Tuesday, January 8, 2008 at her residence in Parks. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery, in St. Martinville. Rev. Fr. Austin Leger, Pastor of St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church, will conduct the funeral service. Mrs. Thomas was a native of Parks, LA, and resided in Lockport, LA for most of her life. She worked as a school secretary for 31 years with the Lafourche Parish School Board. She enjoyed gardening, ceramics, and sewing. Survivors include her daughter, Darlene Thomas Arcement and her husband, Benton, of Lockport; two sons, Andrew Louis Thomas and his wife, Dolores, of Raceland, and Daniel Louis Thomas and his wife, Debra, of Parks; two brothers, Hurvan Solari, of Parks, and Mickey Solari, of Nederland, TX; seven grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, R. L. Thomas; her parents, Daniel and Sylphide Castille Solari; a son, Dean Louis Thomas; a daughter, Donna Louise Thomas; and a brother, Chester Solari. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. on Thursday and continue at 8:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Friday. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pellerin Funeral Home, 112 New Market St., St. Martinville, LA (337.394.9121), is in charge of arrangements.
