Nellie G. Landry

Cecilia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Monday, November 22, 2021, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia for Nellie G. Landry, 87, who passed away on Thursday, November 18, 2021, at St. Agnes Healthcare & Rehab Center.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home in Cecilia from 1:30 pm until 9:00 pm on Sunday and continue on Monday at 8:00 am until the time of Mass.

A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Sunday by Deacon Ken Soignier.

Rev. Keith Landry will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia. Readers will be Sara Huval and Stacey Latiolais.

Nellie worked in medical records at Charity Hospital for 30 years before her retirement. After retirement, she volunteered her time at St. Joseph Catholic Church counting money and teaching religion. Nellie was also a devout Catholic and parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church for many years. She enjoyed dancing, sewing, crossword puzzles, and sports. Above all, she loved visiting with her family and friends. Nellie was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Douet (Donald) of Cecilia; grandchildren, Paige Douet of Cecilia and Laci Patin (Colby) of Cecilia; and great-grandchildren, Alex Patin, Alyssa Patin, Anistyn Patin and Amalie Patin.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert "Black" Landry; daughter, Pamela L. Landry; great-grandchild, Sidney Patin; parents, Clifton Guilbeau and Marie Calais Guilbeau; brothers, Roger J Guilbeau, Sr. and J.C. Guilbeau; and sister, Leona Frederick.

Pallbearers will be Donald Douet, Colby Patin, Mike Guilbeau, Roger "Buddy" Guilbeau, Jr., Perry Calais and Johnny Huval.

Honorary Pallbearer will be Alex Patin.

The family wishes to thank the staff of St. Agnes Nursing Home, Hospice of Acadiana and their nurse Alyson Champagne, and Dr. Degatur for their care and compassion given.
