Coteau Holmes A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 pm, on Friday, March 27, 2015, at St. Elizabeth Church in Coteau Holmes, for Nelson J. Bourque, 74, who passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2015. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 10:00 am until 10:00 pm on Thursday, and continue on Friday at 7:00 am until 1:30 pm, at Pellerin Funeral Home in St. Martinville. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Thursday, by Sister Ameline Theriot. Rev. Joseph Padinjarepeedika will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Chelsie Bourque and Kylie Guidry. Gift Bearers will be Cherise Guidry, Blair Prados, and Kenzie Barras. Interment will follow at St. Elizabeth Cemetery in Coteau Holmes. Mr. Bourque was retired from the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office. As a pastime he enjoyed making puzzles, woodworking, watching football, reading, and eating. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him, especially his wife and their dogs. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Bertha Bergeron Bourque; his daughter-in-law, Patricia Bernis; two brothers, Chris Bourque and wife, Nona, and Stanley Bourque; three grandchildren, Chelsie Bourque, Colby Bourque, and Caleb Bourque; an adopted granddaughter, Faith Elizabeth Bourg; and a niece, Darlene Bourg. He is preceded in death by his parents, Wade and Elodie "Sue" Mello Bourque; his son Michael David Bourque; his brother, Michael Wade Bourque; his sister, Diane Bourque; and a niece, Kristen Bourg. Pallbearers will be Colby Bourque, Caleb Bourque, Grayling Thibodeaux, Chris Bourque, Connor Breaux, and Eddie Bourg. Honorary pallbearers will be Joel Bordelon, Jim Bernard, Charlie Nailor, Scott Bernard, Jim Guidry, and Author Richard.
