Nelson Wiltz

Henderson - Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. , on Thursday, October 27, 2011 , at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Henderson , for Nelson Wiltz, 74, who passed away on Monday, October 24, 2011 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette . Rev. Lawrence Abara, Pastor of Our Lady of Mercy, will conduct the services. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in Henderson . Nelson was Valedictorian at Cecilia Sr. High School . He worked as a dispatcher with Service Chevrolet for 17 years and also worked at Lafayette Motors for an additional 8 years before becoming disabled. He was a member of Mens Cursillo # 389. Survivors include his sons, Buck Wiltz and his wife, Nicole, Alan Wiltz, and Wayne Wiltz and his friend, Donna Guidry; his daughters, Annette Wiltz Gautreaux, Merina Wiltz Soileau, and Gwen Wiltz and her friend, Daniel Kidder; his brothers, Jesse Wiltz and Herb Angelle; his 14 grandchildren; and his 14 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Wiltz, Jr. and Elmire Daigle Wiltz; his daughter, Elizabeth Anne Wiltz; his grand daughter, Nellie Faye Gautreaux; and his sister. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 10 a.m. on Wednesday and continue until 10:30 a.m. on Thursday. A rosary will be recited at 7:20 p.m. on Wednesday. Pallbearers will be Buck Wiltz, Wayne Wiltz, Alan Wiltz, Jacob Wiltz, Matt Wiltz, and Norris Wiltz. Honorary pallbearers will be Gwen Wiltz, Merina Wiltz Soileau, Annette Wiltz Gautreaux, Joni Owens, Daniel Kidder, Derrick Gautreaux, Jackie Gautreaux, Kirk Soileau, Ria Poirier, Jonathan Wiltz, and Hunter Wiltz. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Staff of Amedisys Home Health, Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, and his caregiver, Rose.
