Rynella - Nettie Ann Gautreau Larson, age 96 passed away peacefully after a full life of love, laughter, and joy on March 14, 2025, surrounded by family at her home in New Iberia.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Marcellus Catholic Church at 10:00am on Friday, March 21, 2025. Rev. Don Bernard will be the Celebrant. She will be laid to rest beside her husband and two sons at Memorial Park Cemetery in New Iberia.

A gathering of family and friends will be at Pellerin Funeral Home on Thursday from 5:00pm until 8:00pm and will resume on Friday from 8:00am until 9:15am. A rosary led by the Men's Rosary Group will be prayed at 6:00pm on Thursday.

Nettie, the seventh of eight children, was born in New Iberia, Louisiana on January 25, 1929, to the late Anthony and Effie Deslatte Gautreau. She had many fond memories of her childhood on their family farm. A devout Catholic, she religiously recited the Rosary and prayed daily. She has completed her journey home to the Lord. Nettie was a loving person known for her strong faith, strength, independence, compassion, humor and wisdom. She loved her home and enjoyed working in her yard and around the home. She looked forward to cooking for frequent large family gatherings. She cherished her time with her adored family, including her late husband Floyd Larson and their large family of seven children, 18 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren, who lovingly referred to her as “Granny” and “Aunt Nan.” She had a soft spot in her heart for children and looked forward to visits with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Nettie’s life was rich with interests including vegetable and flower gardening, sewing, cooking, and caring for her beloved pecan orchard. She lived life with energy and enthusiasm. Nettie had a love for life and laughter. She leaves behind a legacy of unwavering love for her family.

Nettie worked at AT&T as a telephone operator where she met her beloved husband. Later in years, she worked for Wormser’s Department Store and Sanford’s Jewelers.

Nettie cherished her husband of 58 years, Floyd; he was the love of her life. She will be remembered for being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and friend. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and all the people that her life has touched.

Survivors include daughters, Belinda Larson Armentor and her husband, Sanford Armentor, Chandra Larson Broussard and her husband, Renford Broussard, Donna Larson McDonald and her husband, Michael McDonald and Connie Larson Elrod and her husband Gilford Elrod; son, David Wayne Larson and his wife, Katy Larson; daughter-in-law, Nancy Larson all of New Iberia; grandchildren; Edward Armentor, Douglas Armentor, Jennifer Armentor Guilbeaux, Wesley Broussard, Natalie Broussard Suire, Bradley McDonald, Lisa McDonald McGee, Adam McDonald, Austin Larson, Boone Larson, Clint Larson, Alecia Larson Pinner, David Larson II, Krista Larson Landry, Alexa Larson Miller, Erica Larson Louviere, Allison Elrod, Matthew Elrod; 42 great-grandchildren and counting; and her loving sister Susie Gautreau Colley.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Davis Larson; her sons Fenris Davis Larson and Eric James Larson; her parents, Anthony and Effie Gautreau; brothers and sisters-in law, Floyd and Ruby Gautreau, Roy and Wanda Gautreau; sisters and brothers-in-law, Roy and Grace Remy, Freddie and Loudella Migues, Erby Colley, Larry and Effie Hayes, and Betty Schwinn.

A special thank you to her sister, Susie Colley and the Colley family; Dawn Colley Rogers, Lee Colley, Mary Colley Taylor, David Colley, Ann Colley Johnson, Terri Colley, Deno Colley Tibbits, Robby Colley, Matt Colley; nieces and nephew, Wylene Remy-Taylor, Nell Hayes Richard, Ann Hayes and the late Tony Hayes for their tremendous love and support. She always enjoyed and looked forward to their frequent telephone calls, visits and greeting cards.

Pallbearers will be Austin Davis Larson, David Wayne Larson II, Matthew Stewart Elrod, Bradley Michael McDonald, Douglas Ryan Armentor, Wesley Davis Broussard.

Honary Pallbearers will be San Armentor, Edward Armentor, Renford Broussard, Michael McDonald, Adam McDonald, Boone Larson, Clint Larson, David Larson, Gilford Elrod.
