Newton 'Yut' Duhon

New Iberia - Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, November 7, 2016, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia for Newton "Yut" Duhon, 74, who passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2016, in Kaplan. A gathering of family and friends will be at the funeral home from 8:00 AM until 10:00 AM on Monday. Rev. Alexander Albert will officiate. Entombment will follow at Beau Pre Cemetery in Jeanerette. A native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, Mr. Duhon was born on September 7, 1942 to Essie and Eronic Duhon. He retired from the city of New Iberia after 35 years of service, and his hobbies included cooking, taking care of his yard, and visiting with family and friends. Survivors include his wife, Lorraine Townley Duhon; daughter, Francine Guillot; grandson, Dustin Menard, all of New Iberia, LA; and two sisters, Grace Maturin and Effie Romero, both of Coteau. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Gerald Duhon, Lawrence Duhon, Clarence Duhon, Minos Duhon, and Dalton Duhon; and two sisters, Mabel Romero and Susie Richard.
