Nita 'Nit' L. Huval

Cecilia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Monday, February 13, 2017, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia for Nita "Nit" L. Huval, 85, who passed away on Friday, February 10, 2017. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 12:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Sunday, and continue on Monday at 7:00 am until 9:45 am. A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 pm on Sunday, by her nephew, Rickey Huval. Rev. Gary Schexnayder will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Rickey Huval and Shawne Huval Taylor. Gift Bearers will be her godchildren, Marelle Thibodeaux and Beverly Hebert. Music will be provided by her nephew and niece, Terry Huval and Ginger Huval. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia. Nit was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother - her sons and granddaughter meant the world to her. She was a wonderful cook and loved preparing meals for her family to enjoy. Nit had a faithful companion, whom she loved dearly, her beloved poodle, "Fifi". She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Her family would like to extend their sincere thanks and appreciation to all her family and friends who visited her during her time of need, and a special thanks to Hospice of Acadiana, for the compassionate care given to her over the past few months. She is survived by her sons, Carroll Huval and wife Isabelle Belaire Huval of Cecilia, and Darrell Huval of Cecilia; her granddaughter, Ashlyn Paige Huval of Cecilia; her sister, Elrina "Tute" Lasseigne; and her beloved poodle, "Fifi". She was preceded in death by husband, Edwin "Din" Huval; her son, Donald James "T-Don" Huval; her parents, Curley and Hilda Frederick Lasseigne; her sister, Joyce Lasseigne Broussard; and grandsons, Angel Dale Huval and Angel Lynn Huval. Pallbearers will be Carroll Huval, Darrell Huval, Coach Lowell "Pee Wee" Guidry, Russell Peltier, Joey Serrette, and Gary "Bimmie" Champagne.
