I have fought a good fight. I have finished my course. I have kept the faith: Henceforth, there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all that love His appearing. 2 Timothy 4:7-8
The Lord is my shepherd: I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures. He leadeth me beside the still waters.."" Psalm 2

A long time resident of St. Martinville, LA, Mrs. Pitts died peacefully at St. Martinville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Saturday, February 21, 2009 when God sent His angels down to take His beloved one home.
Mrs. Pitts was a member of St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church. She worked in apparel and shoe sales for a long number of years until she retired at age 65. She loved sewing, reading, cooking, dancing and enjoyed being with her many friends throughout the years. Above all, she loved her family deeply with whom she shared many wonderful and unforgettable times together, until the cruel disease of Alzheimer took her away. The memory of her kind and loving nature helped to sustain us until the end.
Mrs. Pitts was born March 16, 1919 in Loreauville, LA., to Adonis and Laura Judice Broussard. She leaves to cherish her memory a son, Rogers Trahan and his wife, Audrey; a daughter, Beverly Trahan Clark; grandchildren, William R. Clark and his wife, Alison of Meridian, MS and Michael D. Clark and his wife, Catherine of San Antonio, TX., Scott Trahan and his wife, Cherise, Kim Trahan Granger and husband, Toby and Donna Trahan Gachassin all of St. Martinville, along with great grandchildren Meaghan, Zack, Brailey, Kristen, Tobi Lynn, Carley, Cassie, Ashli, Elizabeth and Emily as well as numerous nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by both parents and first husband, Dudley Joseph Trahan. She is the last survivor of six brothers and two sisters in the Broussard family.
The family gratefully thanks the many relatives and friends who remembered us with their many acts of kindness shown throughout this long illness. Thank you and May God bless all of you.
Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville is in charge of arrangements.
