Breaux Bridge - A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, May 29, 2020, at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge for Nolan Joseph Douet, 79, who passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2020, at St. Agnes Healthcare & Rehab Center.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 9:30 am until 1:00 pm on Friday.
A rosary will be prayed at 12:30 pm on Friday.
Rev. Garrett McItyre will officiate at the Funeral Service. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
Nolan honorably served his country in the Army National Guard during the Vietnam War. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and the National Rifle Association. Nolan was an employee of Ferrell Gas Company for over 50 years before his retirement. Nolan was a devout Catholic and prayed the Rosary daily. He was a gun enthusiast - he collected guns, attended gun shows, enjoyed target shooting and was a gun educator. Nolan loved spending time with his family and friends, listening to music, cooking, and playing Bourrée. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife, Vienna Delahoussaye Douet; son, Keith Douet and wife, Maria; daughters, Melissa Douet and significant other, Ken, and Adria Guidry and significant other, Jamie; brother, Alexander Douet, Jr. and wife, Lelia; and his grandchildren, Gentry Garrett, Spencer Douet and Landon Douet.
He was preceded in death by his son, Errol Douet; parents, Alexander Douet and Esther Champagne Douet; and his sister, Priscilla Douet Martin.
Pallbearers will be Keith Douet, Spencer Douet, Landon Douet, Gentry Garrett, Alexander Douet, Jr., and Darren Douet.
Honorary pallbearers will be Melvin Douet and Donald Douet.
