Henderson - Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on March 25, 2013 at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Henderson, Louisiana for Nolan David Serrette, 75, who passed away on March 22, 2013 at Heart Hospital of Lafayette. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana, 1:00 pm until 9:00 pm on March 24, 2013 and continue at 8:00 am until 10:00 am on March 25, 2013. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 pm on Sunday. Father Edward Degeyter will officiate at the funeral mass. Scriptures will be read by Tara Johnson, Meggi Serrette, and Whitney Serrette. Gift bearers will be Charlene Serrette, Ava Grace Johnson, Cherie Serrette, Kaylee Joy Serrette. Interment will follow at St. Michaels Cemetery in Henderson, Louisiana. Nolan was born January 19, 1938 in Henderson, Louisiana and resided in St. Martinville until his death. Nolan was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was a retired river boat pilot with Florida Marine. Survivors include his wife of 54 years Beulah Dupuis Serrette, three sons Kevin (Charlene) Serrette of Katy, Texas, Kent (Fern) Serrette of Port Barre, Louisiana, and Kim (Cherie) Serrette of Lafayette, Louisiana. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Dr. Justin (Lindsey) Serrette, Tara (Tania) Johnson, Spencer (Cat) Serrette, Meggi Serrette, Cameron Serrette, Whitney Serrette, Hoby Serrette, Kaylee Joy Serrette, Tibby (Sadie) Figueiredo, and Megan Vizena; great-grandchildren Ava Grace Johnson, Lauren Johnson Brooks, Brecken and Emry Figueiredo, Noah and Reid Vizena; his brother Wesley 'BB' (Hazel) Serrette; sisters-in-law Dolores, Daisy and Lorraine Serrette, Georgia (Carrol) Albert, Mary (Dennis) Arton, Janice (Bryan) Staton, and Anne Dupuis; brothers-in-law Fred (Nell) Dupuis and Francis 'Bose' Dupuis. He was preceded in death by his son Keith David Serrette; his parents Anatole and Marie Guidry Serrette; his daughter-in-law Jeanine Serrette; his sisters Yola (Ames) Collette and Ella Mae (Jack) Keith; his brothers Clifton Sr. (Theresa), Milton, Jessie Serrette, and Anatole 'AJ' Serrette Jr.; his father and mother-in-law Julien and Angelina Dupuis; brothers-in-law Percy and Phillip Dupuis. Pallbearers will be Kevin, Kent, Kim, Dr. Justin, Spencer, and Cameron Serrette. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Wesley Serrette, Hoby Serrette and Joe Branch.
