Nolan 'Pappy' Thomassee, Sr.

Cecilia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, September 20, 2016, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia for Nolan "Pappy" Thomassee, Sr., 67, who passed away on Thursday, September 15, 2016. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 1:00 pm until 10:00 pm on Monday, and continue on Tuesday at 7:00 am until 9:30 am. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Monday by Deacon Ken Soignier. Rev. Neil Pettit will officiate at the Mass of Christian Burial. Readings will be read by Brad Thomassee. Gift bearers will be Debbie and Jessica Guidry. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia. Pappy loved his sports! He enjoyed watching the Saints, LSU, UL, and the Cecilia Bulldogs, and he would often do a lot of yelling during the games. Pappy was a family man and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving spouse of 45 years, Sandra Smith Thomassee; sons, Dwayne Thomassee and wife Tracie, and Nolan Thomassee, Jr. and wife Nicole; brothers, Carrol Thomassee, Paul Thomassee and wife Pam, and Gerald Thomassee and wife Beverly; sisters, Lillie Zeringue, Georgie Boutte, and Laida Berard and husband Chester; grandchildren, Baylii Thomassee, Peyton Angelle, Baysn Thomassee, Briggs Thomassee, and Beckham Thomassee; and his caregiver, Brandy Angelle. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Amanda Angelle Thomassee, Sr.; daughter, Michelle Ann Angelle; grandson, Brody Angelle; brothers, Ernest Thomassee, and Louis Thomassee, Jr.; sister, Sue Alice Guidry, and mother and father-in-law, Enola and Delton Smith. Pallbearers will be Peyton Angelle, Patrick McNett, Brad Thomassee, Gerald Thomassee, Marshall Angelle, and Dwayne Thomassee. Honorary pallbearers will be Carroll Thomassee, Paul Thomassee, Ryan Stelly, Kenneth Boutte, Kaylee McNett, Linda Hale, Billy Hale, Brandy Angelle, and Clay Smith. The family would like to say a special thank you to Brandy Angelle for her love and care to Pappy.
