Nootsie J. Barras

Henderson - A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, October 17, 2009, at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Henderson, for Nootsie J. Barras, 77, who passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at Lafayette General Medical Center. Mr. Barras enjoyed going to the horse races, playing Bingo, watching football and the Weather Channel. Survivors include his beloved wife, Verna Dupuis Barras, of Henderson; five sons, Ricky Barras and his wife, Tammy, Kimball Barras and his wife, Jamie, Cory Barras and his wife, Terry, all of Catahoula, Keith McGee and his wife, Charlette, of Arnaudville, and Shane McGee and his wife, Jackie, of Henderson; four daughters, Temesha Johnson and her husband, Shaun, Shely McGee, Sheila McGee, all of Henderson, and Marcy Blanchard and her husband, Cory, of Cecilia; his daughter-in-law, Tammy McGee, of Breaux Bridge; a sister, Carleen Bourque and her husband, Jun, of Catahoula; two sisters-in-law, Judy Hypolite Lasseigne, of Parks, and Sonia Dupuis, of Henderson; 21 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Bernadette Albert Barras; a son, Rocky James McGee; grandson, Christopher Jude Dauphinet; his sister and brother-in-law, Mazel and Don Lasseigne; and a sister-in-law, Jackie Barras. Pellerin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
