Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, February 9, 2008, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Norcey Celestine, 74, who passed away on Friday, February 1, 2008 at his residence in Breaux Bridge.
Interment will follow at St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery, in Breaux Bridge.
Mr. Norcey loved gardening and listening to his zydeco music. ?Family would call him the News Reporter because of his love for watching television. ?He also enjoyed visiting with friends on the phone and out front of his home while drinking coffee and waiting for his postman, Buddy. ?He was admired by the women he loved for his sense of humor, laughter, and the help he provided to them. ?Mr. Norcey also enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Anna Belle Lewis Celestine of Breaux Bridge; his sons, Dennis Smith of Lafayette and Clarence Celestine of Crowley; his daughters, Mary Williams, Evelyn Celestine and Theresa Batiste all of Beaumont, TX, Sandra Jean Batiste and Linda Dugas both of Breaux Bridge; his sisters, Viola Demouchet and Agnes Randolph of New Orleans, and Theresa Thomas of Breaux Bridge; 29 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Clementine Alexander Celestine; the mother of his children, Mary Alice Alexander and his brothers, Jersey, Norris and Paul Celestine.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 7:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 9, 2008.
