Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, March 9, 2006, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge for Norris Joseph Benoit, Sr., 77, who died Sunday, March 5, 2006 at Lafayette General Medical Center.
Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia.
Mr. Benoit served in the U. S. Army from 1946 to 1947. He retired as a HBPA Horse Trainer, and was active with the American Legion Post in Breaux Bridge. He never met a stranger.
Survivors include his wife, Lilly Mae H. Benoit of Lafayette; three sons, Howard James Benoit and his wife, Theresa of Sunset, Norris "Sonny" Benoit, Jr. and his wife, Carolyn of Lafayette, and Burton J. Benoit of Scott; two daughters, Linda Jusselin and her husband, Edward, and Allison Culotta and her husband, Joe, all of Lafayette; two sisters, Savannah LeGrande of Breaux Bridge and Ray Lynn Guarisco of Morgan City; seven grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eno and Ethel Trahan Benoit.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 10:00 a.m. ~ 10:00 p.m. on Wednesday and continue at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday until time of service.
A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening.
Pallbearers will be Mike Berard, Jake Fruge, Taj Gala, Manny Gala, Milan Gala, and James "Pappy" Morgan.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
