Norris Ross Rouly

Coteau - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Thursday, December 27, 2018, at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Coteau for Norris Ross Rouly, 74, who passed away on Friday, December 21, 2018, in Coteau. Entombment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery with Military Honors by the Iberia Honor Guard. Rev. Brian Harrington will be the Celebrant. A gathering of family and friends will be Wednesday from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Pellerin Funeral Home. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm Wednesday. Visitation will continue on Thursday from 8:30 am until 10:15 am A lifelong area resident, Mr. Rouly was born on January 1, 1944 to the late Elmo Rouly and Vera Norris. He joined the U.S. Navy at the age of 17 and proudly served our country aboard the USS Gregory, during the Vietnam War, and was a member of the VFW Post 1982, American Legion, and Vietnam Veterans of America. Mr. Rouly worked for Texaco for 24 years, trained race horses and enjoyed taking care of his cat, “Honey Bun”. Survivors include his sisters, Eva Kibodeaux and husband Jackie of Sunset, and Polly Breazeale and husband Martin of Lafayette; niece, Kayla Daughdril; nephew and godchild, Brian Breazeale; and godchild, Casey Barras.. He was preceded in death by his father, Elmo Rouly, mother, Vera Norris Comeaux; grandparents, Eva Viator Norris and Pheo Norris; and his stepfather, Robert Comeaux. Pallbearers will be Brian Breazeale, Jean Paul Fremin, Pat Viator, Paul Viator, Thomas Viator, and Martin Breazeale. The family would like to give special thanks to his cousins, Pat and Paul Viator, neighbor Dean Broussard and friend, Gerald Frick for helping him throughout his illness. We would also like to express our thanks and appreciation to the Community Hospice Hospice Team, especially Joyce Andrico, and his caregivers, Kitty Courts, Joanne Clay and Jackie Bell, for taking such good care of him.
