Novella Joseph Fontenette

St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, June 5, 2019, at Notre Dame Catholic Church for Novella Joseph Fontenette, 83, who passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2019, at her home. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the church from 7:00 am until time of funeral mass. Rev. Ed Degeyter will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Gabrielle Elise Hector and Bryan Paul Menancio. Gift bearers will be LaShae Fontenette Senegal and Kimberly Clement Jefferson. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville. She is survived by her sons, Nolan Fontenette, Jr. and wife Betty, Roland Fontenette and wife Sherrie, Kenneth Fontenette, Elroy Fontenette, and Gady John Fontenette and wife Laura; daughters, Regenia Gail Fontenette Boutte and husband Peter, Suzette Antoinette Fontenette, and Marvanne Fontenette Menancio; brother, Clifton Antoine Joseph; sisters, Mazel Joseph Francis, Mary Ellen Joseph, Shirley Ann Joseph Thibodeaux and husband Alvin, and Lilly Faye Joseph; 16 grandchildren; and 29 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Clifton Joseph, Sr.; mother, Agnes Jacquet Joseph; her siblings, Francis Roy Joseph, Florance Bernard Joseph, Albert C. Joseph, Jaunita Dennis Joseph, and Robert Francis; and her son-in-law, Benjamin Menancio. Pallbearers will be Nolan Fontenette Jr., Roland Fontenette, Kenneth Fontenette, Elroy Fontenette, Gady John Fontenette, and Peter A. Boutte.
