Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 6, 2007, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge for Octavia Hanna Boyd,75, who died Friday, March 2, 2007 at Meadowbrook Specialty Hospital in Lafayette. Interment will follow at St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery in Breaux Bridge. Octavia was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary. ?She enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing, crocheting and spending time with family and friends. ?Her family will remember her for the beautiful flowers in her yard, the smell of fresh baked bread and her devotion to her Lord. Survivors include children raised by her, Tamra Boyd of Lafayette and Shanna Boyd of Breaux Bridge: her brothers, Peter Boyd and his wife Virginia of Lafayette, Allen Boyd and his wife Mary Sue of Breaux Bridge and Joseph Boyd of Breaux Bridge; her sisters, Hilda Boyd and Rita Melancon both of Lafayette and Mildred Boyd of New York; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mitchell Allen Boyd, Sr., ?and Edmira St. Julian ?Boyd; her brothers, Alton and Harrison Boyd; and her infant sister. Pallbearers will be her nephews, Kirk Melancon, Chad Boyd, Kendall Melancon, Craig Boyd, Marcus Boyd, Kory Melancon and Gary Boyd. Honorary pallbearers will be her brothers, Peter, Allen and Joseph Boyd The family request that visting hours be observed from 7 a.m. on Tuesday until time of service. Rosary will be recited at 9 a.m. Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
