St. Martinville - A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 pm, on Sunday, October 28, 2012, at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel in St. Martinville, for Oleus Joseph Champagne, III, 31, who passed away on Wednesday, October 24, 2012. A gathering of family and friends will be held at the funeral home from 11:00 am until 3:45 pm on Sunday, October 28, 2012. Deacon Marcel "Butch" Hebert will officiate at the Memorial Service. Scriptures will be read by his nieces, Baily and Brooke Patin. Oleus was the owner/operator of Champ's Wrecker Service and also owned a gun shop, being the youngest owner in the state. He ;worked part-time with the St. Martinville Police Department. He enjoyed smoking cigars and was an avid collector of guns and survival/tactical gear - he was always ready and prepared for any situation that could occur. He is survived by his parents, Oleus Champagne Jr. and Mary Patin Champagne, of St. Martinville; his fiance, Nicole Enloe of St. Martinville; two brothers, Bryan (Amedia) Champagne of St. Martinville, and Scotty Champagne of Scott; two sisters Dana (Billy) Patin of Breaux Bridge, and Crystal (Walter) Stelly of St. Martinville; four nieces, Baily and Brooke Patin, Kayla Champagne, and Rhylee Stelly; two godchildren, Brandon Champagne and Neveah Peters; and his pet Doberman, Kacy Oleus Champagne.
