VIEW VIDEO TRIBUTE St. Martinville - Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, October 5, 2009, at Notre Dame Catholic Church in St. Martinville, for Olies Joseph Broussard, Sr. 94, who passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at New Iberia Manor North in New Iberia. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville. Rev. Augustinus Seran, pastor of Notra Dame Church will conduct the services. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Doris Batiste Broussard of St. Martinville; his sons, Nolan (Mary Lynn) Broussard of Cade, Alton Broussard of Youngsville, Lionel Broussard of Lafayette, Olies (Madonna) Broussard, Jr. of Parks, Harvey Batiste of Los Angeles, CA.; his daughters, Verdell Parker of Houston, TX., Diana (Joseph) St. Julien of Houston, TX., Sandra Batiste of St. Martinville, Zelma Charles of Cade, Iris Broussard of Lawndale, CA., and Zeraline (Bobby) Joseph of Gardenia, CA.; his brother, Avery Broussard; his sisters, Eliza Broussard and Yvonne B. Broussard. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Louise Boyance Broussard; his first wife, Ollie M. Katley Broussard; his daughters, Nola and Rosalind Broussard; his son, Allen Broussard; his brothers, Leonance, Edwin, Cesar, and Dominick Broussard; his sisters, Ida Francis, Louise B. Comeaux, Elizabeth B. Mouton and Nemma B. Robertson. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 7 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Monday, October 5, 2009. A rosary will be recited at 9:00 a.m. on Monday. Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville is in charge of arrangements.
