Orsen John Daigle Sr. St. Martinville - Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, on Saturday, July 11, 2015, at Pellerin Funeral Home in St. Martinville, for Orsen John Daigle Sr., 73, who passed away on Tuesday, July 7, 2015, in Lafayette. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday, and continue on Saturday at 9:00 am until 10:00 am. Rev. Roland Fontenot will officiate. Interment will follow at St. Elizabeth Cemetery in Coteau Holmes. Mr. Daigle was born on July 5, 1942 in St. Martinville to Edrick Martin Daigle, Sr. and Aline Dugas Daigle, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He worked as a boat captain for Kirby Inland Marine for over 30 years, and his hobbies included woodworking, football, baseball, and playing golf. A very caring man, Mr. Daigle also enjoyed preaching. Survivors include his wife, Bobbie Necessary Daigle; sons, Orsen J. Daigle, Jr. and wife Gena of Broussard, Richard Paul Daigle and wife Rhonda of St. Martinville; daughter, Bonita Mestayer and husband Chris of Loreauville; step sons, John Allen Cook, Jr. and spouse Denise of Engleside, TX, Galand Cook and spouse Lisa of St. Martinville; brothers, Robert Paul Daigle and wife Mandy of Coteau Holmes, Wayne Daigle and wife Rebecca of Coteau Holmes; sisters, Judy Martin and husband Dolphas of Lafayette, Gwen Berard and husband Overn "Chuck" of Breaux Bridge; 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Edrick Martin Daigle, Jr. and Richard Paul Daigle. Pallbearers will be Orsen J. Daigle, Jr., Richard Daigle, Chris Mestayer, Bobby Daigle, Lifford Wayne Daigle, Dustin Daigle, Scott Cook, and Colby Cook. Honorary pallbearers include Logan Daigle, Galand Cook, John Cook, Keith Daigle, Lyle Dugas, Richard "Ricky" Martin, and Daniel Martin.
