Catahoula - Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Saturday, September 19, 2009, at St. Rita Catholic Church in Catahoula for Pamela Marie Blanchard Frederick, 92, who passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at St. Martin Hospital, in Breaux Bridge.
Entombment will follow at Our Lady of the Lake Mausoleum in Catahoula.
Fr. Richard Fabre will be the celebrant.
The readers will be Paula V. Berard and Holly Verret.
Pamela loved to hear her family choir, so music will be provided by Peggy V. Simon, Frank D. Verret, Laurie Simon, Gary Simon, and Hunter Courville.
Gift Bearers will be Michelle Simon, Jacie Verret, and Tim Berard.
Survivors include her son, Rodney Joseph Verret; her grandchildren, Peggy Verret Simon, Paula Verret Berard, Frank Daniel Verret, and Rodney Michael Verret; her great-grandchildren, Laurie Simon, Michelle Simon, Matthew Berard, Tim Berard, Pamela Marie Verret (her namesake), Carolyn Verret, Holly Verret, Joshua Verret, and Jacie Verret; and her great-great grandchildren, Gabrielle Latiolais and Alexandra Latiolais; her sister, Rose B. Boudreaux, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Frank G. Verret and Joseph Frederick; a granddaughter, Windy Marie Verret; her parents, Elie and Carmelite Berard Blanchard; her brothers, Wilmer Blanchard, John Blanchard, Camille Blanchard, and Elie Blanchard, Jr.; and her sisters, Angela Theriot, Sophie Latiolais, Carmelite Latiolais, and Monique Latiolais.
Pamela loved life and lived it to the fullest. Most of all, she loved her son, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She enjoyed collecting pictures of her loved ones, going to church to hear her grandchildren in the choir, cooking for her family, and shopping.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Dion Hall in Catahoula, from 3 p.m. on Friday, September 18, 2009 until 10 p.m.; and continue on Saturday at 7 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Friday, September 18, 2009.
Pallbearers will be Frank D. Verret, Rodney M. Verret, Matthew Berard, Joshua Verret, Gary Simon, and Timothy Berard.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Our Lady of Mercy Church, P.O. Box 587, Henderson Station, Breaux Bridge, LA 70517. The family wishes to thank Dr. Warren Degatur, his office staff, the staff at St. Martin Hospital, Sylvia Borel, Rita Hebert, and Elaine Johnson, for their excellent care of Pam for the last several years.
